Raise View House has built up a reputation for good food. Traditional meals prepared using fresh and wherever possible local ingredients.

Classical white Wedgwood china is used for both breakfast and dinner and the food presentation is to the highest of standards.

To Start the Day...

They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day and we prepare it with that thought in mind… so go on spoil yourself - you’re on holiday.

Using local sausage, delicious thick cut bacon, fresh roasted tomatoes, mushrooms and the eggs of your choice. For our vegetarian guests we are delighted to provide a tasty and wholesome alternative.

The buffet table has all the usual cereals as well as fruit juice, grapefruit segments, prunes and natural yougurt. Fresh white and wholemeal toast together with Tiptree preserves and Farrers freshly ground coffee fills the dining room with that wonderful aroma. Farrers Lakeland tea along with speciality teas is served in huge White Countryware teapots.

Evening Dinner

We are happy to provide an evening meal by prior arrangement in the Spring and Autumn. Our three course set dinner including coffee and chocolates is freshly prepared using local produce wherever possible. Karen cooks the evening meal while John cooks the breakfast so it gives our guests a chance to chat to both of us in the relaxed atmosphere of the dining room. The evening meal is traditional cooking at its best.

Crisp white tablecloths and starched napkins together with elegant wineglasses give a feeling of opulence but without the stuffiness of a restaurant.

Our wine list is small but eclectic and has been carefully chosen to complement our food.

After dinner coffee is served in the lounge where you can relax with your favourite liquor from our well-stocked honesty bar.

If your not dining with us, Grasmere is full of interesting places to eat and we are more than happy to recommend and reserve tables for our guests.
